Brother Mohammad Sibai is a dedicated and passionate doctoral candidate in clinical psychology at the University of Detroit Mercy. His journey in psychology has been driven by an unwavering commitment to understanding and improving the human condition. He gained his undergraduate degree in psychology at the American University of Beirut before going on to earn his Master’s Degree focused in Clinical Psychology from Teachers College of Columbia University. He is currently on internship at the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center where he specializes in health psychology. He has a demonstrated history of coordinating randomized controlled trials in the hospital & health care industry. He has held research positions at New York State Psychiatric Institute, Henry Ford Health System, and Massachusetts General Hospital. His research endeavors have explored a wide range of topics within health psychology, substance use, and sleep disorders including the psychological factors influencing health behaviors, the impact of chronic illness on mental well-being, and interventions to promote health and wellness. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, and he has presented his findings at national and international conferences. Clinically, he has been trained in psychodynamic as well as cognitive behavioral therapy. Mohammad has also gained forensic experience conducting evaluations at Walter Reuther Psychiatric Hospital, Kings County Hospital Center, as well as the 3rd Circuit Court of Michigan. As he moves forward in his career, he is eager to continue his research, clinical work, and advocacy efforts to promote mental health and well-being in Arab Americans and other ethnicities around the world.
